Facilties Assistant, Holmfirth Civic Hall

This is an interesting and flexible role for the right person to help support the work of Holmfirth Civic Hall.  Holmfirth Civic Hall is a Grade II listed building in the heart of Holmfirth, owned by Holme Valley Parish Council and run and managed on a daily basis by Holmfirth Civic Hall Community Trust.

Reporting to the Assistant Centre Manager and working as part of a small team of employed staff and volunteers we are looking for a part-time Facilities Assistant to provide support for a variety of aspects of the running of the Hall.

This is a flexible part time role offered on the basis of a zero hours contract, on an average of between two and six hours per week.

The work includes evenings and weekend and is mainly to provide support with opening and locking the building, setting up rooms for events and clearing away afterwards, along with some general maintenance work around the Hall.

Pay and remuneration:-

To reflect the anti-social element of some aspects of the role, it is offered at £12.00 per hour and includes paid holidays accrued via hours worked.

Person Specification:-

Relevant Experience:

  • Working in a customer-facing role;
  • Facilities support and/or management;
  • Flexibility and adaptability;

Personal Skills:

  • Good communications skills;
  • Time and priority management without detailed supervision;
  • Personal warmth and empathy, with a strong customer focus and the ability to build relationships;
